Learn Nahuatl

What began as a passion project has evolved into something more.

In an effort to understand the world around me, I began gazing into the obsidian mirror, looking deeper into myself and my bloodline, to learn the language of my ancestors and the land. I created a learning app called Tlil-Tezcatl (the Black Mirror), named for the obsidian mirror associated with the deity Tezcatlipoca.

The Tlil-Tezcatl presents 365 Nahuatl words, one for each day of the calendar year, so that each day becomes a brief meditation in a language once declared lost and now living again. I invite anyone who is curious to look as I have into the past; may you find answers for the present and hope for the future.
